ETALON Labs

Terms

These terms are between you and Etalon, which runs etalonlabs.io and sells what is sold here. They cover the Lab and your account.

Your account

An account is for one person. Google creates and recovers the verified account, and you may add an Etalon username and password for later sign-ins. Keep every sign-in method to yourself: an account shared between people can be closed. You can stop using it at any time, and support will delete it on request.

The Lab

A Lab subscription lets you write strategies in Python and run them as backtests on Etalon's server, over the market data the Lab page lists. Each subscription carries the limits the Lab page states when you subscribe:

BacktestsThe monthly number on the Lab page, counted again from the first of each calendar month, UTC. An attempt counts when it is filed, whether or not it finishes.
LengthA study covers at most ten years of prices. A run has ten minutes to prepare its data and forty minutes to execute, and a run that passes either is stopped.
MarketsThose the Lab page lists. A market is added or withdrawn on that page, and one you rely on is not withdrawn without notice.

Your strategies

What you write in the Lab is yours. You let Etalon store it and run it, because that is what the Lab is, and for nothing else. Nobody at Etalon opens a project except to fix a fault in the service or to look into abuse of it, and your code is never sold or shown to anyone else.

Market data

The market data is licensed to Etalon for use inside the Lab. You may use it to run backtests and keep what your runs produce. You may not copy it out of the Lab, for example by printing or plotting prices in bulk from a strategy, and you may not resell or share it.

Using the service fairly

Do not try to reach other people's work, get out of the container a backtest runs in, overload the service, or use it to attack anything else. An account that does can be suspended at once, and closed.

Paying

Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until you cancel. The price is the one shown when you subscribe. If it changes, you are told by email at least thirty days before the new price applies to you.

Cancelling and refunds

Cancel at any time with Manage billing on your Billing page. Nothing more is charged, and what you paid for stays open to the end of the current period.

A period already started is not refunded in part. If Etalon stops offering something you subscribe to, subscribers are told at least thirty days before, and any period paid for past the end is refunded.

What Etalon is not

Etalon is analysis software. Current builds do not provide financial advice, make trade recommendations, or place orders. Decisions made using the software remain yours.

A backtest is a simulation over past prices, and its results are hypothetical. The risk page says what that means, and it is part of these terms.

Market-data availability depends on configured sources, user entitlements, and the applicable provider terms. Etalon does not grant rights to data beyond those sources.

When something goes wrong

The service is provided as it is. Runs can fail, the server can be down, and market data can contain errors; they are fixed when they are found, but no level of availability or accuracy is promised. As far as the law allows, Etalon is not liable for trading losses or for any decision made using what the software shows, and its total liability to you is limited to what you paid in the three months before the claim. Nothing here takes away rights that the law where you live gives you and does not let a contract remove.

Changes to these terms

A change is published on this page with its date. A change that affects what you pay for is sent to subscribers by email at least thirty days before it applies, and cancelling before then is always possible.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Arizona, United States. Questions about them go to support@etalonterminal.com.
